S3 / CloudFront
Amazon S3 gives almost infinite storage for files and data. Using it, companies can optimise hosting by moving static content off dynamic servers. AWS’ content delivery network (CDN), CloudFront, ensures that media such as graphics and videos are always served from a location near the end user. S3 is used extensively in many of the document management tools we have built with clients. We also make heavy use of S3 pre-signed URLs, which allow users to be given access to specific files, for a limited time; enabling one-off downloads and uploads. One of the most efficient solutions that can utilise both of these fantastic services is building websites and web apps on AWS.
